Project Overview
Amber Waves Farm, a non-profit community farm in Amagansett, NY, provides fresh produce, artisanal food, educational programs, and a CSA program. Isabel Milligan, one of their head farmers, faced a challenge with customer orders. Customers were using various methods to contact the farm, making it difficult to manage and organize orders efficiently.
Isabel wanted to centralize all incoming orders through their mobile app, simplifying the process. The goal was to encourage all customers to use the app while ensuring a smooth transition for existing customers.
My task was to enhance the mobile app's ordering process, making it easier and more efficient for everyone.
Process
I went to sketching some potential new features within the app to improve the user experience for existing users. While using the DoorDash app, I noticed there was a section at the top of every restaurant's page dedicated to showing the user's recent orders with the quantity and customization included. I sketched a similar version of this feature that would exist within the app's search tab.

After sketching, I went to Figma and created a first draft wireframe of the idea as shown below. I took this wireframe to a third-party design team to get some feedback on the functionality and overall look of this new feature. The feedback given me consisted of creating more visual contrast between this new section and the rest of the search results.
